Copenhagen Fashion Week Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Record Attendance
Copenhagen Fashion Week (CPHFW) concluded its spring 2027 season after four consecutive days of shows, marking the event’s 20th anniversary and attracting a record-breaking crowd.
CEO Highlights Industry Resilience
CEO Cecilie Thorsmark noted that the season served as a ‘palette-cleanser,’ celebrating the brands’ strengths following challenging years for the industry. "Copenhagen Fashion Week is only as great as the brands and designers that make up our schedule," she stated at the anniversary gala, attended by celebrities like Alana Hadid and Adwoa Aboah.

Notable Highlights and International Guests
The season featured triumphant returns from previously absent brands, strong debuts from Nordic and international talent, and a surge in side events like gifting suites and dinners. Notably, London-based Paolina Russo and Lagos-based Iamisigo continued to showcase in Copenhagen, building on their previous success. This year’s Zalando Visionary Award winner, Institution by Galib Gassanoff, presented a standout show utilizing materials from the Caucuses, Anatolia, Northern Iran, and Central Asia, blending minimalism with the concept of ‘hygge.’

International Expansion and Sustainability
CPHFW expanded its reach with the inaugural international guest slot, featuring New York-based Collina Strada, who presented a collection entirely crafted from upcycled materials. Thorsmark plans to continue this initiative, inviting sustainability-minded designers worldwide. "I’ve always admired what Copenhagen has built. It feels like one of the few fashion weeks where sustainability isn’t treated as a trend or a marketing angle," said Collina Strada designer Hillary Taymour.
